Antonin Tron Named Balmain’s New Creative Director
Balmain has officially appointed Antonin Tron as its new Creative Director, marking a fresh era for the French fashion house following Olivier Rousteing’s departure after more than a decade. Rousteing’s leadership transformed Balmain into a global powerhouse, driving sales well past the €100 million mark.
Tron, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, brings a wealth of experience from Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, and Balenciaga, as well as his own label, Atlein. His design philosophy—focused on craftsmanship, draping, and sustainability—earned him recognition from both the LVMH Prize and the ANDAM Grand Prize.
Balmain’s CEO praised Tron’s “architectural approach to design,” noting how it echoes Pierre Balmain’s original vision of movement and structure.
Tron’s debut collection for Balmain will be unveiled at Paris Fashion Week AW 2026, signalling the start of an exciting new chapter for one of France’s most influential maisons.
